About modPDZpep

PDZ domains constitute an important class of peptide recognition modules (PRMs) which mediate specific protein-protein interactions. modPDZpep is a user friendly webserver for prediction of interaction partners of human PDZ domains using a novel structure based approach, which is also fast enough for genome scale analysis of PDZ interaction networks. Apart from structure based modeling using statistical pair potentials, modPDZpep also utilizes information on experimentally identified PDZ interaction partners from available phage display data to map novel PDZ mediated interactions in human protein-protein interaction networks. The computational method behind modPDZpep has been published in Tiwari, G. & Mohanty, D. J Chem Inf Model 54, 1143-1156 (2014) and benchamrked earlier on mouse PDZ domains. modPDZpep has been extensively bemchmarked using available experimental data on human PDZ substrate specificity.
